TV or not TV

I’m really getting into these memes- it’s a lovely window into people’s lives 🙂

With thanks to @malbooth

Do you snack while watching TV?
Yes! Cup of tea at night, breakfast in morning

What is your favourite TV show? Doctor Who is my favourite and my best since I can remember
What TV show makes you run to change channels?
Hey Hey it’s Saturday, but who runs anymore? It’s often the case- quick!Where’s the remote?
How do you view your TV guide: online, on-screen, newspaper, magazine, other?
Online during the week and the A2 in the Age on the weekend
Have you ever been surveyed for your TV-viewing habits or do you know anyone who has been?
No, but a friend’s family was surveyed for a week when I was in high school for a week with a diary.
Do you watch TV news and/or current affairs regularly?
I used to be a real TV news junkie, but my husband was against the kids seeing too much death and destruction, so not anymore. It’s usually on at the same time our dinner time is on as well and we don’t want to encourage more TV watching. Will watch the 7.30 report occasionally.
Do you watch any TV “soaps”? (Truth please, even if it is embarrassing.)
No- not anymore. Neighbours was a favourite, but not any more.
What other series shows do you try not to miss?
Doctor Who- I was without TV reception for 2 weeks when we moved house 2 years ago. I got someone to tape it for us. Another house move 10 years ago saw us install the TV first and establish reception so we could watch Survivor that night. And Collectors is good.
Any previous series or shows you really liked?
The Wire, Deadwood, The West Wing, Mad Men, Buffy, Lost
Do you have pay TV or are the digital channels enough?
Digital Channels are enough, but I tend to watch TV shows that were on pay TV on DVD.
Do you only watch certain TV shows online?
Do you regularly use services like ABC catch-up or other online replays?
I’ve used iView once to catch up on a Doctor Who episode (I’m sensing a theme here…)
Do you ever pay any attention to the adverts?
They’re tea-making time!
Do you multi-task while watching TV & if so what else are you doing?
Knitting, snacking, eating brekkie early in the morning.
Is there a TV show that makes you laugh out loud?
Spicks and Specks when Hamish is on. I end up wiping tears from my eyes!

Have you ever said no to a social invitation to stay at home and watch TV? (Truth again please.) Mind telling us what the show was?
I remember having a dinner of fish and chips in a hotel room in Horsham with a database rep, so we could both watch the final eviction from the first series of Big Brother 🙂
Do you record TV shows & if so why and how (VCR, DVD recorder, TIVO, laptop, etc.)?
Don’t record any more- the DVD will come out soon enough…
Least favourite TV personality/actor/character?
Daryl Somers
Most popular TV personalities/actors/character?
Stringer Bell from the Wire, Al Swearengen from Deadwood (You thought I was going to say Dr Who didn’t you? Well…I have a soft spot for David Tennant. Because he’s Scottish. And he’s about a week older than I am.And he was in Dr Who too…)
Have you ever seen anything really memorable on TV (not news/events – made for TV drama, etc.)?
Molly dying on a Country Practice still makes me teary.

Do you prefer TV series or stand-alone shows?
Definitely a series person.

Is there a specific show you find yourself recommending over and over?
The Wire, The Wire, The Wire
